The Freedom 13 Organization

Marine Lance Corporal Jared Schmitz was killed in action August 26, 2021 along with 12 other US service members while conducting non‐combatant evacuation operations at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan.

A Rifleman in Ghost Company, 2nd Battallion, 1st Marines, Jared was 8 years old when he announced he wanted to join the military when he graduated high school. Never wavering from the commitment he made at just 8 years old to serve his country, Jared enlisted in the Marine Corps through the Delayed Entry Program during his junior year at Fort Zumwalt High School, graduating in 2019 and headed to Camp Pendleton after his official swearing in with Marine Corps on July 8, 2019.

The Freedom 13 Organization is 501(c)(3) (application pending) non-profit. All proceeds will go towards the Freedom13.org's Mission of building Veteran Recreational Retreat Villages across the country to help Veterans and their families.
